Resident Evil Props 3 by RedDevil00 Resident Evil Props 3 by RedDevil00
Some of my RE props

- Red Hawk handgun ammo
- Ballistics magnum ammo
- Jackal TMP ammo
- Dragonfly rifle ammo
- Heavyfield shotgun ammo
- Parabellum handgun ammo
- sub machine gun replica of one of the 2 guns traded to Steve Burnside by Claire for the gold lugers in Code Veronica

I remade all the ammo boxes myself using some screenshots as references for the font, position and size of text. Still got a few boxes to make

Yo mate, do you have the images for the ammo boxes? Or at least take closer pics of them, I want to use them as textures.

Just to share, the Red Hawk, Ballistics Magnum, Jackal Submachine, Dragonfly Sniper Rifle and Heavy Field Shotgun boxes surfaced for a third time in the 3DS exclusive RE game "Revelations." I think the only brand you're missing is American Wolf from "CODE: Veronica" and Ultimate Mighty Z from game 4 going in reference with your statement

I just used a can of spray paint, made the label on Photoshop and stuck it onto the can. That was one of the first props I made

Would you be willing to consider making these boxes available for download?

Also what game is the Parabellum box from? It doesn't look familiar to any of the games I remember.

"Parabellum" is the handgun ammunition brand in RE0 (if nobody answered already).

Heh, this shows that something you've done, someone will already have done better than you. I remade the designs of the boxes too with props in mind. You did better and more accurate than me.
Would you mind sharing how you got the prints on the boxes (and maybe even the print files)? My methods haven't been giving me the results I want. Namely, like yours.

Thats usually the case, i've been happy with some of my stuff until i see what other people have made  I used the actual in-game models so the images on the boxes are exactly right. All i had to do was make them bigger and i remade all the text on the boxes trying to match the font, size and position as best i could to the original. This is the site i used for the screenshots: [link] Biggest pictures of them i was able to find. Making new documents on photoshop to the exact right size of the boxes i measured (in cm) they dont really look that big so i was able to just use the screenshots and make them bigger without the images really pixellating, the text did though so i remade all that. Took alot of editing the shots to make them look right, had to keep resizing, rotating, skewing etc til it fit in the window and was sitting at the right angle. Then i used the clone stamp tool to remove the text (with a dupe layer underneath before doing that) then set that layer at a low opacity so i could still see the text to use that as a guide on font, size and position of the text when i added my own over that. They did print out better than i had expected though. I then covered them in sticky back plastic to make them look and feel better before sticking each part onto the boxes

Suppose it depends how good you are with Photoshop (if you even have it) to whether you could use that method or not. Im not good at making things from scratch so i try to find ways i can work with something which already exists

I would never have attempted to do that, wouldn't think it was possible to resize them and get the results you did. I did mine all in Illustrator cause I wanted to make sure I had no loss in quality when resizing for the print. But that came with a loss in accuracy of the original material. Namely the jackal ammunition. I had to use a look-a-like photo of a wolf and vectorize it.
I think I'll go back to the drawing board, and see if I can vectorize the wolf in the screenshot. Thanks for sharing.

I wouldnt have been able to do it that way, i can only work this way. The images came out fine, if they hadnt i wouldnt have been able to make them unless i could find very similar pictures to use but they still wouldnt look right just sticking them on there. It is certainly possible doing what i did using the shots from that site. Considering the size of the boxes they print out perfectly fine. Using cm sizing on photoshop instead of pixel size the documents look pretty small which is why it worked, if they had been bigger the images would have pixellated too and have been unusable. As i was able to keep them relatively small and them print out big/normal size it worked out fine. They could be better but they are fine for my purposes. Obviously the non-image ones like Ballistics and Parabellum (which i made from scratch) are slightly higher quality as they were straight remakes from scratch. The ones with images could be better quality but they still work

I just got my hands on the original texture files used for the ammo boxes in the game. They're not big, but if you could make that kind of quality out of even smaller res pictures, this should be great.
Where'd you get the boxes from? Just folded and glued the cardboard yourself? And this, stick back plastic, was that the adhesive you used to stick the prints on? I haven't heard of it before.
I'm asking a lot, sorry. I've been wanting to make these boxes since last summer.

You managed to get the original files? Those would be alot better.. I'd have used those instead if i could have gotten them

I bought boxes from shops based on my own judgement of what size and shape they should be. The red hawk box is dried peas and the others are shredded suet. If i'd made them myself they wouldnt be as strong and durable so i stuck my labels onto existing boxes. Sticky back plastic is just a covering to stick over the labels. All you need to stick the labels onto the box is glue
