I am attempting to make a model prop of the Hydra triple barrel sawn-off shotgun from Resident Evil 5. It is my fav gun other than the Samurai Edge

Its just a toy double barrel shotgun i managed to find in a shop here which has about the right look. Its not sawn off at the moment as it has the stock on the end (ignore all the paint on the stock, i've been using it as a testing ground for various paints for other RE guns im getting to find out which is best to use/easiest to be removed as i need them painted to get them cause of stupid airsoft laws in the UK) The stock will be getting sawn off at some point to make the handle the right shape

I just painted the black area on the frame today and the brown parts i want to paint a darker brown. The barrels will need sawn down a bit too as the end of the part underneath the barrels is ment to line up with the end of the barrels or close to. And of course the main thing to do is add the 3rd barrel. Im really not sure how to do this so if anyone can help or has any ideas let me know. A black tube the same diameter would do but the problem is making the 3 barrels sit in line so it looks even. If i just stick another barrel on the end of one of these 2 it will be completely out of proportion. I would actually need to move these 2 barrels over a bit and accomodate a 3rd one onto the end then. Problem then is the plastic parts which hold these 2 barrels then wont fit.. so im not sure what to do with this yet

Im not sure if its hollow inside the plastic stock or not for when i saw the end off.. It probably is so will need to end up filling in the gap with something most likely

For now this is just a work in progress. Any help with how to add the 3rd barrel would be appreciated. I've seen someone here on DA who has made a hydra from a gun that had 2 barrels so it can be done ;)

Heres a pic of the Hydra as seen in RE5: [link]

Oh my god,you did an amazing job!
I can see how much time you spent in painting this and remodeling it..and I must say,it is great. It looks just like the Hydra! :3 Well uhm,I was thinking..how about sawing apart the two barrels, then sawing the third barrel from the black shotgun below and then just glue them together? Then you could add another piece of wood at the end, since it looks much longer in RE5..and there you go! I hope you like my idea :D Great job anyways, you're really talented!

Thanks, glad you like it =) I cant use the shotgun in the bottom of the pic, its a tiny gun and wouldnt look right. Im using that one to make a replica of the shotgun from Bioshock. Trying to find a bigger gun but for now im stuck with the tiny one

I just thought i could try and buy another of these guns if they still sell them (bought this about 2 months ago) and maybe saw a barrel off of that and try and remodel it all to fit it onto this one and i would have to saw the plastic part underneath in some way to both make it longer and also allow another barrel to sit in it. Maybe using another gun and sawing it all and sawing the end of the plastic bit off this one and joining the 2 together might work im not sure. Again it would look uneven as one side would be longer than the other so i'd need to work both sides. I cant remove that part as the split is at the end of it (where the gun opens to put the 'ammo' in) which would be another area of problem as i'd need to get it to work at that end too.. Will take alot of thinking to try and work out what to do with this so it all works and looks right. With the way its built adding another barrel would basically mean most of the gun needs to be remodelled to accomodate it. Not only the front plastic part under the barrels would need to be widened, but also the part behind that which has the hinged bit on it which will be a problem
